Review & Description

History and military buffs will delight in this new book regarding World War II and the campaigns of both Operation Torch (North Africa) and Operation Husky (Italy).  If you are looking for the details of everyday life in the military during World War II, this is the book for you.

This is the story of Tech. Sgt. Edward Graham. Eddie signed up for the Army right after Pearl Harbor, or at least in an indulgence to his mother regarding the holidays, he waited until after Christmas. He enlisted on January 10th, 1942 in New York City at the age of 27. He had previously spent four years in the Navy before enlisting in the Army. He somehow managed to be transferred into the Air Corps. USAAF 12th Air Force (B17F Flying Fortress) of the 301st BG.

This book is a memoir but also includes a wide variety of 1940's history. Included is everything from a Dept. of Defense Report to a Donut Recipe from the Red Cross during World War II.
